Hey, hello, good people.
Looking back over some previous writings, I came across this one.
Of course, at the time, I thought they were just dark imaginings.
It starts out with a few introductory thoughts and then goes into rhyme.
And here it is.
If democracy fails in America, the country would descend into a dystopian nightmare.
The once great nation that championed freedom and democracy would become an authoritarian state where basic human rights are trampled upon.
The rule of law would be no more.
The whims of an autocrat would be enforced.
Economic inequality would worsen.
The wealthy would own the resources, and the poor and vulnerable would be, well, poor and vulnerable.
International relationships would fall apart.
The fabric of social society would fray.
The United States would be unrecognizable and global systems would unwind.
And then autocrats would rule and then they would fix us because after all, they know what is best for us.
When Democracy Fails Saturday, April 8th, 2023, at 8:07 a.m. When democracy fails, the people feel lost, our voices silenced, our hopes and dreams tossed. When democracy fails, the world falls apart, the people are helpless, our dreams torn apart. The leaders, once chosen to serve and protect, now serve their own interests; their people neglect. The rights once granted are taken away, the people are left with nothing to say. Corruption and greed, bribery and deceit, the pillars of power are what they entreat. The rights of the people, once held so dear, are now trampled upon by those once revered. The world is divided into the haves and have-nots, the rich get richer, the poor left with naught. The masses cry out for justice and change, but our voices drowned out by the leaders deranged. When democracy fails, the people must rise to fight for our freedoms, to seek truth—that’s our prize. We must hold them accountable, and demand what is right, for true democracy is so worth the fight.
